I just realized that the template
_EXCH_XYZ_RL
translates into EXCH2_XYZ_RL
rather than EXCH_XYZ_RL
for the global_ocean.cs... experiment
(I was under the impression that
EXCH_XYZ_RL itself would control of
whether exch or exch2 routines are called...).
So my question was obsolete.
