Of the subroutines that call the above, exch_uv_xy_rx and 
exch_uv_xyz_rx, only exch_uv_xyz_rx calls cube-specific subroutines
directly and so requires no exch_xyz_rx.  The other one calls more
interfaces before getting to the cube code.
