We're talking at crossed purposes:
Ed has been automatically "testing" the model by means of testreport and
verification
genmake2 does not yet test for the presence/location of MPI

It would be news to me if we're doing MPI testing automatically. I've been
thinking of how to do it.
J-M, have you tried multiprocessing with any of the other compilers? I had
similar problems trying to run the coupled setup.
