My opinion:
T should contain myTime, but Chris is right that the specification of
the field should determine time. For example, if you are storing an
average, you might want to use the midpoint of the interval instead of
the last time...
Another variable called iter(T) would be useful sometimes, e.g.
combining files, and wouldn't require much additional storage.
