Ed, all four of the machines that I tested (columbia, orion, lomax,
and gemini) allow you to submit small mpi jobs interactively using
"mpirun -np 2 mitgcmuv".  Shouldn't "testreport -mpi" be at a
minimum able to support such interactive mode?

In addition to problem with testreport, mpi tests on columbia and
on orion also fail because of the "globalfiles" option, which only works
if "usesinglecpuio=.true." is also set.  Would it make sense to add
this option to select verification experiment data files?

Finally, on lomax and on gemini, testreport failed not only for the
"-mpi" option, but also for the standard 1-CPU case.
