Hi,

I was not lucky this morning when I downloaded a fresh version 
of the code (at 09:52 EDT) and got the 1rst version
of mdsio_writefield_loc.F that did not compile.

I didn't notice immediately that the 2nd check-in was a fix
to the 1rst one:
Log Message:
extending useSingleCpuIO option ...

Can I suggest that when a modification is fixing something
the check-in message explicitly mentions it ?

I had a hard time recently to get a version that 
compiles nicely (see for instance the recent "testing"
on myrinet cluster) and clear log-messages can help
to figure out what the fixes are.
