Dimitri,
One GOOD thing you did was put pre and post tags around your changes!!! For
once, something works as planned.
However, we basically need to undo your changes and talk about them when you
visit next week? We're particularly unhappy about the repositioned call
points and it interferes with the restructuring that we're about to start.
It breaks more than just the output.txt - it's completely reversed the order
of operations during the course of a forward step. Whatever the reasons for
it we clearly need to talk about it because it's precisely this order of
operations that we are sorting out in our restructuring.
You may complain.
A.

Subject: [MITgcm-devel] FREEZE & EXTERNAL_FORCING_SURF
Hi Dimitri,
I am presently working on the thermodynamic-seaice package
in order to use it in the couple ocean-atmosphere set up.
Your latest changes are making things more difficult (also Patrick has some
problems with the adjoint). Is it possible, for the time being, to put all
those latest
changes (EXTERNAL_FORCING_SURF & FREEZE in thermodynamics) within #ifdef /
#endif so that our results are not changed, specially the 3 global_ocean
verification exp. And we can sort out these things when you visit MIT.
Thanks,
Jean-Michel
