Hi Patrick,

That problem is my fault.

I tried to write a clever bit of bash code to detect the difference
between Fortran name-mangling and C name-mangling -- with a default
behavior that should have been the same as the old code.  I must've
failed.

Could you please do the following:

  1) try the very latest from CVS -- I just checked in a possible
     fix

  2) if that fails, may I try running some tests on that machine?
