[MITgcm-devel] Release versions of tils/matlab

Can we bring the release1 branch versions of utils/matlab up to date; a lot
of the contrib stuff uses new functionality in the utils/matlab/ scripts.

I've noticed that many people aren't using up to date versions of rdmds.m at
their own inconvenience. We should give instructions about how to set up
matlab paths so as to maintain uptodate versions of these scripts.
