representative of the mid-latitude of the domain?</p>

Doddridge's SO setup, and values probably overlooked as the
tutorial lat-lon domain evolved to final form...<br>

of 70S, while beta corresponds to 55S.</span></p>

<p class="p1">No big deal, but curious if this intentional
and if so why. Artificially reinforcing beta effect?</p>
