<div dir="ltr">Hey Nils,<div><br></div><div>thanks for the reply-- I believe your thesis may be useful regardless. However, and perhaps I should have been clearer in my first message, the floe I initialize should indeed be in free drift. It is an ice floe of size 25x18 grid cells, located in the centre of a 192x88 cell domain such that it doesn't touch any of the walls. </div><div><br></div><div>I've attached some movies showing my cases at 500m and 1km resolutions so you can see what I mean. The time format at the top is days:hours:minutes. Both cases are using constant windspeed of 6 m/s. <br clear="all"><div><br></div><div>At resolutions higher than ~500m (not an exact bound, just an estimate) no motion is visible. </div><div><br></div><div>Note how in the 500m case the right bound of the initial floe remains static at A=1 even though ice moves past/off of it in much lower concentration. I'm not sure what to make of that but perhaps it's some clue.</div><div><br></div>Regards and thanks,<br><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature">Senja</div></div></div>
