[MITgcm-support] do ocetaux and ocetauy reflect cell-averaged stress in a sea-ice model?

Hello All!
I would like to apply surface stress to an ocean model without the sea ice package implemented, but using the effective surface stress — i.e. that imposed by sea ice, and imposed by winds where there is no sea ice — from a similar run using the sea ice package.
Would the diagnostics OceTAUX and OceTAUY be appropriate for this? They save the arrays fu() and fv(), which i know are updated by the sea ice model, but im not sure if they are saved at the correct point in a time step.
Many thanks if anyone can advise!
Dan
