[MITgcm-support] binary input file with (lat, long, depth, time) for offline run

I would like to input a binary (lat, long, depth, time) input file for use within the DARWIN package as I implement an offline run. The input file would not impact mitgcm ocean forcing and only impact tracers running on top of the MITGCM.
The EXF package would seem to be a candidate for handling the input but does not seem to have the capabilities to handle depth. This makes sense with its concentration on surface forcing. I could shoehorn the depth layers as levels but that seems inelegant.
Adding it to the OFFLINE package dataset seems cumbersome. I think i would also require me to inflate my timestep resolution to match the offline dataset , and thus making it artificially large.
Am I missing a straightforward package/way to add (lat, long, depth, time) input file. I have no issue with setting up the data as a NC or Fortran binary.
Cheers,
Eric
