[MITgcm-support] Rotating Tank - Structured Bottom Topography

Hi,
Running my model to study baroclinic instability and Rossby waves, using
the bottom topography including a negative parabola crowned by a triangle,
I got reasonable results, velocity, surface elevation and temperature, but
the temperature results are reasonable as long as not getting to the
tallest part of my geometry since after which, going down, plotting
temperature at each height, a zero temperature region appears where, in a
nutshell, when plotting the bottom temperature, instead of seeing a
unified temperature region, two zero temperature regions become visible;
one of which is a circle at the center of the tank and the other is a thick
stripe circling having a specific distance from the zero temperature
region. Although trying different temperature initialization values and
advection schemes, the zero temperature regions with the structure continue
to appear.
Thank you for your comments regarding the problem.
Ali
