[MITgcm-support] What way is better to add tide in MITgcm?

Hi, everyone

I‘m running a regional model in MITgcm, as far as I know, there are two ways to add tidal forcing, (1)using "obcs_add_tides" in OBCS pkg, (2) using hourly air pressure in EXF pkg. So I have a question, which one is more accurate to simulate tide in a regional model (about 30°*30°)?

By the way, about the sea surface forcing data, NCEP and ECMWF, which dataset is used by ECCO?

Thanks in advance.

Best,
Leming
