[MITgcm-support] Salinity doesn't change

Hi Igor,

in you “data”, there is no surface forcing for temperature or salinity (both are commented out).
You have (strong) stratificaton for temperature, but constant salinity (of 10 everywhere)
 tRef=20.,10.,8.,6.,
 sRef=10.,10.,10.,10.,

You wind forcing will lead to some circulation and upwelling of cold water, that’s why you see temperature changes and eventually contribute to density gradients. Your salinity is also fluxed around, but since it is constant, you don’t see it, and it also does not contributing to density gradients.

Try this
 sRef=33.,34.,35.,36.,
or similar, to provide some salinity stratification (and hence variation)

Martin
