[MITgcm-support] Help with profiles package

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the response. I am using a curvilinear grid (usingCurvilinearGrid = .TRUE., in the "data" file) and for my application, I need to have a curvilinear grid.

Based on the manual it appears that I need to use the matlab script netcdf_ecco_GenericgridMain.m

Any example that you have would be helpful even if its for a constant DX DY scenario because currently, I don't even have information on the file format for prescribing sampling locations.

Thanks,

-Taylor

Hello

Do you need generic grid (profilesDoGenGrid=true)?

You don’t need to provide your grid information if you are using a simple grid (e.g. lat-lon)

Hi all,

I am wanting to use the profiles package to make point-to-point model and observation comparisons during a model integration. I see there is some documentation in the manual and when I look through the verification directory I found two sample configurations which have a data.profiles file (verification/flt_example and verification/global_with_exf). However, neither have the netcdf_ecco_GenericgridMain.m matlab script needed to prepare input files with interpolation grid points and coefficients (see below). I am using a curvilinear grid.

Has this operation been inlined yet? The manual directs readers to "MITgcm contrib/gael/profilesMatlabProcessing/"

I was able to find http://wwwcvs.mitgcm.org/viewvc/MITgcm/MITgcm_contrib/gael/profilesMatlabProcessing/profiles_genericgrid<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__wwwcvs.mitgcm.org_viewvc_MITgcm_MITgcm-5Fcontrib_gael_profilesMatlabProcessing_profiles-5Fgenericgrid&d=DwMFAw&c=MNHwOqQ8N1u91SoMLfIblwuGXKgp50OPUXjl8uRAbak&r=-2mtwYLbfYRNeEm_5KETmg7RiEQSph8woT1xDOPwUFc&m=FBRDRt4IIWLrZlO5kyWhXMbw4MBFwC4e-OlvbGT67k0&s=y2pqDM0bPQX0YzKIguCHlRQPjaYuKv2dKDDa2ba_XZg&e=> however it appears that files have been removed or are "dead".

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could direct me to where I could find netcdf_ecco_GenericgridMain.m or better yet if someone could send me an example configuration with profiles package.

Thanks for your valuable time,
-Taylor
