Please refer to manual for possible options, in the end you’ll have to decide what is suitable for your problem. For “climate-type” simulations with realistic topography I like to use the stevens bcs.
For ETAN you don’t need a boundary conditions unless you want to use the non-linear free surface. If you do, make sure it’s consistent with the prescribed velocities.
