[MITgcm-support] TAF naming convention for adjoint variables

Hello

I am using TAF and have run into the adjoint variable naming convention
issue (e.g. theta becomes theta_ad rather than adtheta as it used to).

I know this changed at some point in recent years; the question is, does it
matter? e.g. the admonitor() s/r uses the variables in adcommon.h using the
old convention. I came across this submission to the devel list:

http://mailman.mitgcm.org/pipermail/mitgcm-devel/2016-September/006695.html

which notes the change in notation (but seems to indicate it is not an
issue, and does not seem to mention a workaround). Is there a way to revert
to the old notation that i am not using?

Many thanks
Dan
