[MITgcm-support] *** ERROR *** MDS_READ_FIELD: Too long

Hi all,

Nevermind, I figured it out. In my pfc_readparms.F routine I wasn't setting a certain file name to ' ' by default. This would have told MITgcm to skip the file.

But what really happened was that the file name was given some uninitalized junk value, and then MITgcm tried to read a file name that was gibberish.

Oh well. In case anyone else encounters a similar error, then this is how to fix it.

Thanks again!

Best,

Bob Y
