[MITgcm-support] Control Vector Output

Hey all,

I am curious what the extensions 'effective' or 'tmp' mean for the control
variables or their associated adjoint sensitivities. For example, I am
wondering what the difference is between the following files:

adxx_tauu.effective.(iter).data
adxx_tauu.tmp.(iter).data
adxx_tauu.(iter).data
