[MITgcm-support] Restoring/relaxing nutrients

Hi Sarah,

darwin_relaxscale has units of seconds.

If I can not find the units in the manual I will ‘grep around’ in the source code and follow the logic.
I would suggest grepping around in the darwin and monod packages to make sure you understand the units.

Hope this helps.

Luke.

Hi,

I'm using the Darwin package and running the model with additional nutrient fluxes which I've created. I've found PO4 accumulating in a specific region of the ocean and would like to resolve this by systematically restoring PO4 in the surface layer, which I believe can be done by defining RELAX_NUTS (?) So far, I have defined RELAX_NUTS in DARWIN_OPTIONS, and have created a 3D darwin_PO4_relaxFile which I've read into data.darwin. However, I don't know what the restoring time scale unit is for darwin_relaxscale, could someone shed some light on this for me please?

Many thanks,

Sarah
