looks like you get most of your hit from reading the forcing fields and in monitor output.

if you don’t need it, you can turn off monitor: "monitorFreq=0.” in data

can you put the forcing files on a faster drive, e.g., a ram drive or a
fast external Thunderbolt or USB 3 drive?
