[MITgcm-support] restart .meta & .data files from a different processor decomposition?

Dimitris is right of course, just for completeness: the error message you are seeing has to do with one of the namelist files (probably data). Have a look at STDOUT.0000 so see how far the model got before crashing. That should give you the namelist in question.
