[MITgcm-support] vertical mixing of momentum during convective adjustment

Hi Dimitris…

pkg/kl10 in relatively recent MITgcms does this, though the viscosity is not a constant, its depends on the dissipation inferred from the  displacement from its sorted depth dz, and its mean (sorted) stratification N: K = 0.2 dz^2 N.  You could easily change that code to just have a constant in unstable regions if you prefer that approach.
