Hi Angela,

thanks! I’ll check this step.

Yes, usually I have to check what is in my local "code" directory. Usually a .h file is mismatched. Updating the MITgcm from the repository does not change what is in your code directory.

Hi Angela,

this helps! However, I have tried to delete the MITgcm, reinstall it and run it again, but the problem is still there.

Thanks,

Tobia

Hi,

I get these types of errors when I update the GCM and some variable has been added or deleted from the repository with respect to the files of the same name I have in my "code" directory. I am not familiar with this particular variable, though.

Hi all,

I am just trying to run the MITgcm at global scale.
After the ‘make depends’ and the ‘make’ commands, I have the following error that I cannot understand.

gfortran -fconvert=big-endian -Wunused -Wuninitialized -O3 -ftree-vectorize -funroll-loops -c diagnostics_status_error.f
diagnostics_status_error.f:2055.30:

      IF ( diagName.EQ.blkName ) THEN
                              1
Error: Symbol 'blkname' at (1) has no IMPLICIT type
diagnostics_status_error.f:2058.42:

     & ', pkgStatus=', diag_pkgStatus, ' : ', errMsg
                                          1
Error: Symbol 'diag_pkgstatus' at (1) has no IMPLICIT type

It seems that the fortran compiler cannot read these functions.

Any suggestions?

Regards,

Tobia
