[MITgcm-support] Strange SSH variation near coast area

Hi all,
I'm using MITgcm for two years' US East coast simulation. The model runs
without tides. But the results show very strange sea surface height (SSH)
values at some coastal areas. Sometimes, the SSH is too low, and sometimes
too hight at these certain regions. I attached a STD of two year monthly
SSH and a snapshot.
First, I thought it may be related to the nonlinear surface option. But the
results are similar whether I use nonlinear surface or linear surface
option.
I wonder, if is this related to vertical grid setting and bathymetry? My
vertical grid setting is as follow:
# turn on looped cells
hFacMin=0.3,
hFacMinDr=10.,
hFacSup=15.,
hFacInf=0.1,
delR=10.0,12.0,14.0,16.,18.,20.,22.,24.,26.,28.,31.,35.,40.,50.,60.,70.,80.,90.,100.,110.,120.,140.,160.,180.,200.,225.,250.,275.,325.,375.,434.,480.,480.,500.,500.,500.,
I really appreciate if someone could give me some suggestions. Thanks a lot.
Xiangming
