[MITgcm-support] Regional output - diagstats

Hi Holger,

the diagstats can do "statistics" (mean, min/max, std) of sub-regions, but not really 2 or 3D fields of these sub-regions. I suppose you want to do the latter. I don't think that there is code for doing that. For that it's probably easier to actually modify the low level I/O routines for your specific requirements (although I have to admit that MDS_WRITE_FIELD (in mdsio_write_field.F) is not my favorite routine.
