Dear MITgcm'ers,
when analyzing meridional overturning, especially in the Southern Ocean,
it is often useful to have a look at the meridional overturning
streamfunction in (potential) density and latitude coordinates (D"o"os
and Webb 1994), as defined as (pseudo-tex-code)
\Psi(y,\sigma) = \oint \int_{-H}^(z(x,y,\sigma)} v dz' dx
I guess other people have wanted to have a look at this type of
streamfunction before. So is there already a matlab (or other computing
language) script around to calculate it, given the density and
meridional velocity fields?
Cheers, Christoph
