[MITgcm-support] Input data in netcdf format

Dear all,
 one question for all who use MITGCM with the netcdf option enabled. I am
aware that when the executable is built with the netcdf interface it is
possible to write the o/p as .nc files.
 Is it also possible to input files like topography and forcing, wind
stress, initial u,v files etc. as netcdf files. If yes, does the format
remain the same as the usual binary.
