[MITgcm-support] set trace particle

You can initialize tracer field by adding the following line to 
data.ptracers
PTRACERS_initialFile='your initial tracer distribution file1, file2, 
...'. The example
given here is for multiple tracer fields. The files should be in binary 
data format,
and have structure of nx by ny by nz.
