[MITgcm-support] Absorption of short wave radiation

Hi all!

I would like to know how the short wave radiation is absorded in the
MITgcm code
   In the file exf_radiation.F , the net upward shortwave radiation
(swflux) is calculated without any referrence to the depth

  swflux = - ( 1 - albedo ) * swdown

This gives the net short wave radiation penetrating the water surface.
Does the code provide a way to compute the short wave radiation
absorbed at a given height z using for instance an exponential decay?

Thanks for your help.
