[MITgcm-support] input datasets

Hello all,

Are all 3-dimensional input datasets specified in &PARM05 supposed to be 
of the same size [nx ny nz]? If so, is this done for simplicity or for 
some other reasons?

I noticed that in the examples the files 'S.init' and 'U.init' are of 
the same size. (I naively thought that the U initial condition should 
have the x-dimension of nx+1)
Does it have to do with assumed periodicity in the x direction?
