Liuyu, because the input forcing files start at hour 3 or 6 of each year, if you want to start integration from beginning of 1992, you will also need the 1991 forcing files to provide the first few hours of forcing.
But be aware taht first few days you wiwll not be able to integrate with 20 minute time steps, as model is set up by default. You need to reduce "deltat" in the data file, perhaps down to 60, in order to get rid of initialization transients.
A better alternative is to use a pickup file and to start a bit later, say day 3,
niter0=216. There are pickup files
pickup.0000000216.cube27 and pickup_seaice.0000000216.cube27
in http://ecco2.org/products/model_setups/run_template/
but I just realized that I am unable to see the pickup.0000000216.cube27 file,
probably because it is > 2GB.
I will inquire about a better way to serve this file.
