[MITgcm-support] conservation of eta

Hello

I have a question regarding volume conservation.

I have exactConserv=.FALSE. and NO freshwater forcing. (In fact, no  
salinity
in the problem.)

Starting from rest, I integrate the model. I would have expected that  
the surface
integral of Eta, i.e., sum(sum(RAC.*Eta)), should stay zero for all  
time. This
should happen even when exactConserv=F.
But that is not borne out by experience. Can someone please explain  
what I'm missing
here?
