Hi Eli,

All of the diagnostics output can be written in either the old-style
"flat file" MDSIO binary format or in netCDF using the MNC package.  The
default is usually MDSIO and netCDF can be explicitly selected with:

  diag_mnc = .TRUE.,

in the data.diagnostics namelist file.  Also, diagnostics should default
to using MNC when useMNC is true.
