[MITgcm-support] cross-land mixing

Eli, two generic comments, not sure if either is applicable to your 
particular problem:
1) C-grid strait width need only be 1-grid point to allow exchange and
2) you can vary grid spacing so as to increase resolution near strait.

the width of my strait is even less than one grid point width. 
and I'm aware to the capability to use vary grid spacing, but this will
force me to reduce even more my time-step.
