Baylor, your message above worries me.  For high-res integrations I use

  useFullLeith=.TRUE.
  viscC4Leith=1.0,
  viscC4Leithd=1.0,
  useAnisotropicViscAGridMax=.TRUE.

What do you mean there is no viscc4leithd divergent correction?
In mom_vi_hdissip.F there are terms of form:

    Alth4=sqrt(viscC4leith**2*grdVrt+viscC4leithD**2*grdDiv)*L5

Aren't these supposed to be the divergent corrections or is there a 
problem?  Why do you reccomend to switch to harmonic viscosity?
