Use the optfile linux_amd64_pgf77+mpi_ncar - it should work. If after the 
latest changes to lightning it doesn't please let me know.

I've been doing that - I've used PMAPI and PAPI at Bluesky for code monitoring 
and mpiP for communication monitoring on lightning. Code for the former will 
soon make it to CVS.
