[MITgcm-support] coastal surges?

Hello MITgcmers.  Does anyone out there have experience with coastal 
storm surges and, in particular, regarding the correct setting of bottom 
drag and vertical viscosity parameters for realistic storm surges?  I am 
suspecting coastal surges as a possible explanation for possibly 
exagerated pile-ups of water along some coastlines.
