[MITgcm-support] prelim. assessment of latest MAIN branch adjoint

Part of the reason why the latest adjoint
is broken is the
       IF ( .TRUE. ) THEN
statement, see the green marked block in
http://dev.mitgcm.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/MITgcm/model/src/forward_step.F.diff?r1=1.57&r2=1.58

(the whole forcing if-sequences are quite messy anyways).

It's clearly a TAF problem that such
an if statement creates dependencies,
(the IF statement is obviously always true),
but we have to live with it until TAF is fixed.
