Arne,

It's wonderful to see the model running globally with eddies!! Well done.

I'm sure this took a lot of effort, as well as computer time.

Just wanted to clarify a few things:

Is the run using the Cd scheme?
Does it have lopped cells?

A time-step of 240 s is ridiculously small - the converging meridian
problem. Our current gridding efforts employing the cubed sphere should
help considerably enabling a much longer time-step.

The model is more stable with Cd, but one would hope we could do without it
at these resolutions.

What's the priority - global or Atlantic?

John

Alistair, Chris,

if you are interested you find first results of the global model at
http://www.ecco.ucsd.edu/internal/glo6/ecco_glo6.html --> "First results
of the spinup run". Please note that the model was started at Feb 16,
1992 and is now integrated for 180 days.

I appreciate any comments.

Ciao,
        Arne
