David,

I think you need to change the Makefile on cg01 to not use the
-byteswapio option.

Hi Chris,
where are you hidden ?
as you can imagine, if I write to you it is not to take
news but because I have a problem.
it is a question of little and big endian.
on twain, the ecco_files are written in little endian (the -byteswapio
option only apply to the Mitgcm outputs) and the ecco_files are read
properly by the optimisation executable.
on myrinet , the ecco_files are written in big endian (-byteswapio apply
to every I/O) and so, after that, it refuses to optimise
what's the solution ?
changing the Makefile of the mitgcm on myrinet ?
changing the makefile of the optimisation executable ?
throwing everything to the trash and go on holidays ?
thanks
