Hi Yu-heng,

You will need to generate your own topo etc...
There are a couple of people using the
model in situations that have some similarities
to your interest. One is Sonya Legg (slegg at whoi.edu)
the other is Chris Edwards (christopher.edwards at uconn.edu).
They can fill you in on prior work.

Chris

Subject: Using MITGCM in Monterey Bay

Hi

I am planning to use MITGCM to simulate Monterey Bay in CA. Particularly,
I am going to focus on the effect of hydrostatic and non-hydrostatic modes
on the Caynon and the upwelling flows. Do you know any previous study
using MITGCM to study that region? To my knowledge, there is no such work
done before using non-hydrostatic model. Please give me any advice as to
this application since I am a new user for MITGCM. Any comment and
suggestion is appreciated!

If I want to use my own topography, do I have to generate the grid on my
own? I found "topo.*" is the files for topography. But is there
anywhere else I have to change to set up my own grid?
Thanks you so much!

Yu-heng
