whatever it would be good to tag and join b-a-m with c34!

Tested Jean-Michel changes and they seem good now.

Only core things that are not quite there
  1. complete textual output. Don't believe every parameter
     is reported.
  2. the discrepancy between exact and b-a-m might be a
     sign of a problem with model/src, although I think 
     thats unlikely. 
 
Otherwise everything else ongoing is in per-experiment
"verification" directories or in packages which are 
easy to maintain.

I think model/src/filters.F is now history?

 What is going on with the e-mail lists? Some messages go to
mitgcm-bugs, some go to support at bronte.lcs.mit.edu, others
go variously between you, me, Jean-Michel, Patrick etc....
Is there some hidden pattern that I'm missing?
