Hello:

On page 151 of the manual, equation 3.19, there is a

\delta z_s in the equation.  [ the eqn is: F_s = \tau_x/(\rho_0 \delta
z_s ) where
F_s is the (surface) forcing term in the momentum equation]

I am using a constant grid spacing in the vertical (between cell faces
or cell edges)
which I will call \delta z

Is \delta z_s = \delta z

or

 2 * \delta z_s = \delta z [=> one sided difference approximation at
surface]

I have a bet (with myself !) that it's the latter. The residual mean
circulation
depends strongly on the surface forcing approximation.
