[Mitgcm-support] release1

Anyone,

 What is the difference between the branch "release1-branch" and the branch
"release1". I thought release1-branch was the thing whose
HEAD was the up to date release1, it seems to contain
the release1_beta1 tag (I think). 
I just talked with Jean-Michel and now we're both unclear!!!
Plus Steph, Martin and Kerim all think I don't know whats
going on :-(.
