Hi Dan,

It seems that these modifications do change the halfpipe_streamice results:
On the reference platform+compiler (baudelaire+gfortran),
fwd fails:
 Y Y Y Y> 0<16 16 16 16 16 16 16 16 22 22 22 22 22 22 22 22 FAIL  halfpipe_streamice
adm TAF fails:
 Y Y Y Y 12>10< 5 FAIL  halfpipe_streamice  (e=0, w=8)
adm OAD fails:
 Y Y Y Y 13> 9< 6 FAIL  halfpipe_streamice
