[MITgcm-devel] issue with taf licensing

J-M and Patrick

There is an issue looming, and it is that my taf license will expire as i
cannot afford it; and i am not sure there is anyone else able to ensure the
halfpipe_streamice verification can still pass, never mind the fact that i
won't be able to update adm_output.txt (though someone else could do this
easily). the obvious potential problem being a seemingly benign change
leading to a massive recomputation loop, which i will then not be able to
fix.

one option is to ignore the halfpipe_streamice taf experiment when it
fails. this may be the only option, though it is not one i prefer, since i
do not intend to abandon the use of TAF -- i simply cannot afford it. I
don't know if there is any possibility of talking to Fastopt to explain
that i would not be using it to do any science?
