There's a new model/parameterization for mixing by internal tides based on a Garret-Munk spectrum <http://journals.ametsoc.org/doi/abs/10.1175/JPO-D-12-0207.1>

Carsten Eden has implemented this IDEMIX model by Olbers et al as part of the GGL90 package (one extra file and some modifications to about 8 files of GGL90), and he gave me the code. I think technically, it's possible to massage the code so that everything is OK (i.e. does not interfere with other parts of GGL90), but the question is, do we want to include this in the main repository, and if so how? just as part of GGL90 may be a pity, because it could also be useful elsewhere.

Or just an example/verification experiment in MITgcm_contrib with the modified files in "../code" at the risk that it is outdated very quickly?
